Actually more like mod for free. Anyone want it? My nice little Real Deal Mod? That I've sunk over 100 hours into at various times?
I don't have any more time for it, but I would be quite happy if people would actually take a look at it. At the very least observe the changes that have been made to spears, as these are truly revolutionary and a big step forward if you want realism and balance and flavor.
I dunno, I sorta had given up on this community as gasping for life, and figured at the very least all interest in modding had died, but I've been thinking recently, "hey, maybe not quite yet.. well, go give it another shot". Anyway, it is available for download at my site, linked from my sig. If you have problems with my site, feel free to contact me so I can e-mail it to you, or you could also do the standard thing and simply give up (won't bother me). Frankly I have recently gotten to a point where I don't have the free time to mess getting my site a better server, nor have I gotten any indication that it would be a particularly profitable venture, fiscally or otherwise.
So have a go at it, take a look at it, I really think there's a lot in there to please the heck out of a lot of the people who are still coming around here. It certainly couldn't hurt.

Well....
While Khan did just get popped for posting in the wrong place, and given that he and I have had alot of differences on this board - I feel a need to respond. Folks - his mod is bloody good. The spears specifically are MUCH more accurate. The mod has a lot of time spent in it - and I encourage you all to try it. Its well worth the effort.

Well, now I do know why they are so intent on ignoring my work. Basically there is a new patch coming out, which they have been privy to and done testing and work on, which will incorporate changes similar to those in the Real Deal, and they don't want anyone stealing their thunder.
It doesn't make me think any more highly of them, but it does explain their actions.

Well, it would appear as if I have a solid host! Yay! Perhaps now I should get on to work on the extension to the Real Deal, to include thoughtful modifications for the Mongol Invasion time period.
Off course nothing will work unless people will try it out and provide some meaningful, detailed feedback.

I have been reading some of the posts that you have put up about the changes you have made in here, and I, for one, am a lot more interested in your version than the new "official" version. At least for single player use anyway.
Call me a purist, whatever, I always think trying to make something as historically accurate/realistic as possible is the way to go.
