Research - List of vanilla city coordinates
Holy f..ornication, Sfwartir has got some spare time - again!
Off modding RTW, eh?
You may want to change faction ownership of a province or two (or ten,
for that matter), e.g. to make faction locations on the strategic map
more historically correct to your chosen era in history.
Now, the process itself, changing ownership of provinces, has been explained in previous posts. What I can present, is a list of the city coordinates you need to garrison your new provinces, place units, spies, diplomats and whatnot. Hopefully, this list will save you some frustrating amounts of time tracking down each coordinate on your own.
By the way, the coordinates (x-y) are read like this:
*The higher X-value, the further east the location.
*The higher Y-value, the further north.
(And consequently, the lower X-value, the further west
and the lower Y-value, the further south).
This can be good to know if you want to relocate units, e.g. the former garrison of a city you've changed ownership of.
Off we go! I've sorted the cities factionwise to ease things a bit.

Re: Research - List of vanilla city coordinates
Is there a file somewhere that list all the town / city coordinates ? I wanted to mod the campaign map for RTR 6.0 , no problem with the starting province (give many Seleucid eastern province to rebels) but my problem is the units there.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Re: Research - List of vanilla city coordinates
No, unfortunately not. The settlements are located wherever there is a dot on one of the map graphic files. What you need to do is put your cursor over the place you want the co-ordinates for, bring up the RomeShell console and type show_cursorstat
Re: Research - List of vanilla city coordinates
Thanks for the reply man. Will try once I get back home. Need to minimize the starting position of Seleucid. Too big!!! (makes my Bactrian southern expansion difficult in the beginning)
p/s: The show_cursor is during the campaign map ? Sorrry for the stupidity.
Cheers...
Re: Research - List of vanilla city coordinates
Yes, you bring down the RomeShell console on the campaign map, put your mouse over where you want the coordinates of and type show_cursorstat into the console.
Re: Research - List of vanilla city coordinates
Very Nice List :)
Also, if I may add to this, specially for those that use modified Maps.
You can load "map_regions.tga" in to your favorite 2D Edition proggy, and then flip the map vertically.
You can thus get the coordinates by hovering your cursor over the Black Pixels that indicate a settlement's position and get the coordinates.
The Y axis is inversed, that is why fliping the map is required.
:)
Re: Research - List of vanilla city coordinates
this list is realy good, i had to work all this stuff out for myself when i tried modding rome. now it will be a lot easyer.
Re: Research - List of vanilla city coordinates
hi there - wasn't there also a hyperborea? semi-hidden region on far northeast containing amazons and special war chartiots?
