Imperium Total War - Recruiting

Hello everyone,

Imperium Total War is a mod that has had a release, version 1 and then a version 2 beta. The work that went into these two mods was tremendous. These mods were made only by PyrrhusIV (from the Trivium and twc)

The next version (it will either be called v2 or v3) will feature many more changes and 3 new factions, yes 3! Even possibly 4!

The purpose of Imperium will be to make the game accurate and fun at the same time. We will not aim for accuracy in the way EB does, but more than CA did certainly. I know this may seem similar to EB and RTR, and it is somewhat but we also intend to aim for fun and we will sacrifice a more accurate choice for a more fun choice at times and our factions are different.

ALL units will be re-skinned and many re-modelled.

The map will either be custom made by me or we will use Mundus Magnus (with permission) and cut down some of the southern african area that is unnecessary.

Though our Darth Vader does help the other DARTH VADER on some aspects of his mod. Well that's what he told me anyway.

As for graphics i cant do much. For my mod the only graphic i did was a different colored loading bar.

Imperium Total War - Weekly Update #1 - Friday August 5th, 2005

Hello Imperium TW fans,

As you can tell, this is our first weekly update. Over the past week, Imperium Total War has gone from a one-man project to a full team effort. We now have 12 members on our team. Imperium Total War will soon be featured as a Major Mod at Totalwarcenter.net - and we have our own official forums here


Although it is only the first week of our mod team working together, we have some things to show you. They will be from different aspects of the mod, this is due to our disorganization in this past week. That is to be expected under these circumstances, and we are now organizing our work much more.

Before you see any skins, here is our current faction list:

We have a few skins from our talented skinners to show you. These are all works in progress and should not be critiqued for small errors that will undoubtedly be fixed before this mod is released.

Now, we have a post-marian Roman cavalry skin by Comrade Alexeo. This skin is being worked on and the uniform will be redone, the shield can be showcased for the time being.

There is more to Imperium than skins, of course. I have been working on the map and it has been cut down to the desired point, leaving the unnecessary areas of africa off the map.

Imperium Total War - Weekly Update #2 - Friday August 12th, 2005

Hello Imperium Fans,

It has been one week since our last update, and much has happened. The team has continued to grow and we have many dedicated team members. This week you will see several things, a couple of skins, the in game map, and a preview of our AOR system.

Over the past week, the team has been working hard on many aspects of the mod. We have been brainstorming about our AOR system and we have come up with an early version of the regions. The other news we have is that Pergamum is now replacing the Greek Cities as our last faction.

Our Area of Recruitment (AoR) will be much more detailed than any you have seen in the past. We will feature many more areas, meaning you will get to command a huge, diverse arsenal of different troops. Our AoR will feature 47 areas, including unique areas for Athens, Sparta and Aetolia.

The map, being a vital factor to a good mod, has been worked on as well.

This is an in game preview with the factions moved to their general areas. The Romans have not been set up and Numidia is not a faction but that will be changed shortly. Of course, more regions will be added and some removed in order to fit our new factions. The pic:

i dont want to be rude, but what is the point to this mod? if its historical accuracy, theres RTR and EB!

We will have dif factions, better AOR than RTR (a boast by the leaders at least), and focus more on gameplay.

Our Aor will be much better. Why? In RTR everybody can recruit the same aor units. Now, do you think that the greeks would work for say, gual, if they had been conquered by them. We will represent this by having very detailed AOR's. This mod isnt for "realism" think of it as a mix between SPQR and RTR.

well why not creat a mod in a different timeframe that the standard RTW? there are loads of mods at the moment ,but all are in the same timeframe!

This is our third update for you, if anyone actually cares ( :laughing: ). Our team has continued to grow over the past week, now adding several new skinners to our ranks. Although, we have not received a huge outpouring of support from the community, we will continue to work towards the completion of the mod, which i guarantee will be very enjoyable to many people. We have been working hard this week on completing units as well as other aspects of the mod.

Of course we are improving the other aspects of the mod, one of the most important being the Area of Recruitment. The AoR has been set up this week, all the hidden resources being in place. The units are not done of course, but there are 45 functioning AoR regions in place. This map shows the layout of the AoR:

Although a picture will not be posted, the map has also been improved. Provinces have been added to Italy, Sicily and most importantly Baktria, in order to depict it more correctly.

We have a particularly special whole faction preview for you today... which represents what will likely be the final units for the Roman faction. These were done exclusively by one the team's several incredibly talented skinners, Lusted, and we think you'll agree that he's done an incredible job of meeting even the most exacting standards of any fan.

Before we show everything though, keep in mind that some names may be changed, and that the list doesn't include auxilia troops and possible AoRs that are being developed now.

Extraordinarii Cavalry

These more traditionally equipped cavalry formed the cavalry component of the Roman reserve unit, that in their own language was called the 'Extraordinarii.'

Another more traditionally equipped unit, though this one would fight on foot, and make an excellent show of themselves when forced into engagements by circumstance in battle.

Urban Cohorts

A force of elevated Praetorians, better endowed with wealth and resources in their dress, that formed the backbone of any local city policing forces. The Urbans were the forerunners of the conspiratorial Praetorian Guard and the Spectaculars that gave latter Roman history, the flavor of betrayal.

Imperium TW - Weekly Update #6 - Saturday, September 10th, 2005

Hello Imperium TW fans,


This week our update comes one day later than usual, but a lot of good progress has been made over the last week, as well as new discoveries that will help the mod greatly.

Due to some complications, the map that was being worked on from scratch, is currently on hold, and Dromikaites has nearly finished making a new map, that is built on Mundus Magnus. The map will feature many changes, including an expanded Sicily and Greece.

This is very much a work in progress, as you can see. The chariot is being redone and it will obviously have indian drivers, not britons.

Nice to see good progress being made on this mod.

Just to mention though, that all your signature banners breach the signature limits for the Org, so your fans can't use any of them here.

Limits are as follows:

-10,240 bytes max.
-no sound.
-max 500 pixels wide, max 150 pixels high. This applies to all images together in the signature.

Hello Imperium TW Fans!


We have another weekly update this week for you. Work has been continuing over the past week, much has been done on parthia for the most part. We are also developing some ideas that will be groundbreaking and make this mod very enjoyable. We will not be revealing some things yet, mainly our one huge idea that we are working on, but you will know, in time. Work has continued on the units, many parthians have been done as i previously said.

The first thing we have to show this week is an improved Mauryan bull chariot. It has a much improved skin for the bull, and now has indian drivers and a new chariot model.
