Re: The same, only different
It's an old article. I just read it for the first time. Thought I'd post it and see what you all think of it. If anyone has any supporting or negating claims to some of the points in the article, I'd be most obliged. Thanks.
Cheers !
Re: The same, only different
Surely there is a difference between a government that prosecutes such actions and one that enacts them?
Re: The same, only different
This is simply a hitpiece on white people, Christians, the military, but mostly on America. Oh and of course calling Bush the "fucking commander in chief frat boy" was a nice hint at the author's maturity.
The author promotes a culture of guilt that takes no consideration of history or perspective. His ideology feeds off the guilt of westerners for crimes they had nothing to do with in a time they never lived in. We are bad, we are guilty, there is no right.
The author knows how difficult it is to confront someone else's wrongdoing if one feels guilty himself. Its a sad and pathetic tactic, and only weakens resolve to fight our enemies, which is of course the point.
Re: The same, only different
Is absence of prosecution the same as approval ?
Re: The same, only different
I would say the absence of prosecution when faced with evidence is a backdoor form of approval. I would also add that prosecution that pre-decides the outcome either way is unjust.
However it is a lot easier for a small group of like minded issues to pass up a prosecution then it is for an entire government to torture and murder its people like that of Saddam's Iraq or Nazi Germany or WWII Japan.
Re: The same, only different
Very true.
Does anyone know if all those examples from the "Indian Wars" are actually true ?
Re: The same, only different
Probably is true.
It does lead to an interesting proof that all cultures are not equal.
As the current culture is an improvement of that of old. This would indicate that some cultures are better then others.

what i don't understand is when the author tries to say that we are all racist
it doesnt seem to be based on race, what has been going on
culture really breeds mindset
color, features, language are an aside
i dont care about having white children. what lives on is the ideology, the skin color is a moot point. my bro and sis are puerto-rican and black. but in reality they are irish american; raised by irish americans. bodies die, genes die out, ideas seem to live longer.
the racist claim cannot be lobbied against me - i dont think that way, but i do believe in moral standards
i believe (and am frantically searching for personal proof) that the basic western ideology is based on truth and is superior to others. this, however, is a cyclical arguement which will be bought by no one
if one company creates a vacuum with the same build as one made in the 1920's while black and decker makes one that picks up tons more stuff and cleans carpet and does dishes etc - the decker vacuum is a better vacuum. i know, people will say "it's not for everyone. what is someone needs a simple vacuum that craps out all the time? it gets the job done". i just need to beleive that there is a point and that we all exist in the same physical and metaphysical universe
i dont know. life seems so meaningless. if you dont believe that their is a direction and superlative goal for humanity, it really can't matter what a law says. it is all piss in the wind
who knows who is right or wrong
if we just base "right" and "wrong" on our own interpretation of the world, we are left with a very unforgiving, unfair, dog eat dog reality. that is what nature is. the concept of "humanity" is based on the idea that there is a goal beyond immediate personal fulfillment and procreation

He was the only one ever to pay off the national debt.
Re: The same, only different
I rather like this part:
Quote:
This is in marked contrast to the typical M.O. of such folks, whose racism is matched only by their own systemic cowardice: a cowardice that encourages them to kill and maim from a distance in most cases; to drop bombs from 10,000 feet, to shoot from several hundred yards away from a helicopter.
So what is this guy promoting? The good old days of Roman warfare? Hell no I don't want to get close to a tank!
