Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
I have recently decided that I might become an officer in Her Majesty's Armed Forces, preferably the Royal Armoured Corps, although in which regiment I end up I have no clue.
I was wondering how many here have served in the Armed Forces, and in which branches.

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
I think there was thread in the backroom about this a couple of weeks ago.

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
I've also been thinking of joining as in officer in Her Majesty's Army, preferrably infantry corps. Iuno if I should tho.

Here it is: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=51693. Personally I think that serving Queen and country does not include risking my life going to some God forsaken hell hole just so that some foreign country can be "free".

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
You no longer wish to go to RMA Sandhurst?

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
No, stupid asthma :embarassed:

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
Perhaps, I don't really know yet. My parents still want me to go to two universities to study two degrees. Since I will finish school completely in 3 years time, I will be 17 and to young to go to somewhere like Oxford, but I might go to Geneva University to study accountancy/economics, then Oxford for history.

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
I hope to study physics in Cambridge before going to Sandhurst. I shall have finished school in 2 years at 17, but didn't realise that it was too young...

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
I don't know wether one would be allowed to live independantly at 17.
-
Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
In the United Kingdom, one can live independently at 16, never mind 17.

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
I still don't know. It would be easier for me with an accountant's degree should my career as an actor, politician (they're both the same ~;) ) or writer fails. Accountants are paid an absurd amount of money in Swizerland, which is where I would like to live in comfort. As a true expatriot, I love my country from afar, but I don't necessarily want to live there on without having a nice place in the country and somewhere in town.

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
won´t serve unless someone tries to invade or something...
so....not bloody likely ~D

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
Nope, tried to join the Airforce Cadet Academy last February but failed the maths test.... I was asked about stuff I didn't know existed....
Passed the physical tests perfectly though, they even offered me joining the Marines (as an intermediate step for the Green Berets), but I refused. I want POWER and obedience. ~D
I'm considering joining the Royal Guards when I get my degree though

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
I might join the Bundeswher, reserves or regulars yet to be decided. Its actually not bad in Germany, aside from the fact you're drilled and trained to the best in Europe, aside from maybe Britain, and that can be demanding.

Her Majesty's Forces always provide, with a handsome pay-packet of 50,000 in 11 years

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
Served my time as a marine. Wanted to enlist into navy and travel the world.
But sleeping with so many men is just not my thing. ~;)

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
Well I did get £700 after field training with the TA up in Benbecula: Between North Uist and South Uist.

No maybe about it ~;) Seriously though, from what I recall of the Bundeswher boys they were always tough and fit as anything and a great bunch too. Something about Germany just produces tough soldiers, regardless of regime.

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
Conscripted into the Royal Norwegian Air Force - Anti-Aircraft Artillery.
Was transfered from Anti-Air to Logistics at a isolated mountain base later due to poor health.

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
One person made a political statement in this thread. That is a no-no here. A big huge huger than huge no-no. Let there not be a second.
No politics or religion in the Frontroom. None. Nyet. Nada.

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
No - I put considering even though I'm not too signify that I would if I could but a coordination issue bars me from it.

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
I decided not to vote because I am A U.S. Marine, rather than serving in the "Navy-Marines". I'll ignore the technical relationship. Our Marine Corps is an entity onto itself unlike the Marines of other countries. :duel:
Edit: Well, if Gawain can do it I guess I can too. :army:

Re: Have you serve in the Armed Forces?
Nope sorry I have not served in any of the Armed forces. I don't think I will either to be honest but I am considering a career in law enforcement.
