Can you play MTW factions after you install the STW MOD?

If so, then I'd like to try it.

Though I have personally not yet played the STW Mod, confining myself to the XL and BKB_super Mod, i would estimate that the STW mod if not designed as a separate campaign like the VI campaign would preclude the playing of your standard factions- Hope this helps. ~D
