Armour penalty in the desert
At what armour level does the penalty for armour kick in when in the desert? I've hunted around and found 2 different numbers - 3 and 5. Anyone know for certain which it is? And does it include armour upgrades? (I'm pretty sure it does, but want to just double check).
Also, is it just fatigue that takes a hit? I say "just" fatigue, I know exhausted units take a serious hit to their combat values and morale.
Re: Armour penalty in the desert
I'm not sure, so I usually send alot of peasants, urban militia and un-armored
feudal sgts/spearmen with my early crusades. :embarassed: Later I take the
armored units anyway- fatigue or not :dizzy2: .
Re: Armour penalty in the desert
It seems to kick in from the 1st upgrade.
For pure desert fighting I find 1 armour upgrade is usually ok. Units with 2up on armour tire faster; even jinettes.
Units classed as "armoured" tire faster, period. Feudal Sergeants best spear; gallows/highlanders best sword; vanilla archers best missile. Anything above "light" horse will fatigue quite quickly.
Morale upgrades much more valuable than armour in the desert.

I believe it's 3+ for defrost and 5+ for bacon.
Re: Armour penalty in the desert
3 for infantry and 4 cavalry is where it starts. Lower than that and desert doesnt have any impact.
