When will the open beta NOT be done?

Ok, I've read a lot of 'when will it be released' topics. And I know the answer. So I'm not going to make one.

However, I'm going to be kindof busy for the next month, and I was curious if the team could say up to what point there is pretty much 100% certainty that the mod will NOT be released.

For example 'The open beta will definately not be released before the end of september. After that I really can't say'

Or whenever.

Because I really do want to play your mod at the earliest possible opportunity, but I wont be checking the forums regularly for a while

i'm waiting for mongoose to come in here and say "until it's done!!" in size=20 or something.. :shifty:

It definitely won't be done this week and probably the next. After that, it depends on how things go with what we're currently working on.

I would have put three weeks as an absolute minimum. Maybe two weeks, though, I suppose, miracles do happen.

Well, I'm an optimist at heart. Of course, the realist in me says we'll run into more hard code and take another two months to fix it :P

Look, dude, we all can't wait, but it's been getting a bit of a bore...

Now now,
we can wait, and we must, thia mod is going to be the single best community project for RTW yet, possibly for any game. And it must not be rushed. After all, if they rushed it out and it was full of bugs then you would be the first one to complain that it was bad and full of bugs....

If that was a comment about waiting on the open beta:

We could always release what we got now and hear complaints later that it's completely unplayable ~;)

We had hoped to release the open beta in August and were working hard on it, but we've run into several obstacles (hard-coded stuff and things not working as they should) so the open beta has been delayed as a result. And we aren't using all our free-time on the MOD either. Many of us have jobs and families too and studies as well. And sorry to say, but these are of a higher priority than EB.

We're just people, not wizards with a magic wand that can create something fast and flawless. ~:)

I meant, given that if we could wait this long we can wait until it is done. I re-read it, and it can be interpreted differently...

reversed psychology seems to work..as soon as you say: "i dont wanna know what teh Occultus is"..the answer should be erverywhere..

but indeed..the 3 weeks is incredible...

I already said "I don't want to know what Occultus" is, but I misphrased it and Khelvan got pissed off at me- so anyone else want to take a crack at it?

Basically, I said "I am sick and tired of hearing about Occultus", and needless to say, Khelvan took offense, since he has Occultus in his sig. Unfortunately, I was referring to a question earlier in the thread, but I did not specify this.

he's a member, workign on teh Traits-system..and he and malrubius are trying to cram in as many traits a possible..

so, weirdly enough, the deadline is always to soon for him..

if nothing happens, maybe in about 3 weeks...

Edit2: Come to think of it...we are all as anxious about releasing the beta as any hardcore fans is of playing it.

Mmmm, I wrote this thread quite carefully so the team could maybe give a minimum time to completion WITHOUT giving a deadline (a maximum time to completion.) Obviously if you start thinking that EB open beta WILL be released in 3 weeks, you're almost certain to be disappointed

It will be done tonight quick everyone block up the website, being released at 7.00pm GMT!!!!!!!!!!!! (just joking);)

i'm guessing 4 weeks..
when they say:' at least not within 3 weeks (being optimistic, probably)' it's 3-4 weeks, or much much higher..since they'll be having hard-code problems...
