another noob/frozen pea question.

hey guys. im havin fun just mixin up units and stuff and i was wonderin if someone could please tell me how and where i can change a units basic strentgh and attack.

All you need to do is look in the freezer section, just next to the carrots and broccolli ... if you can't find peas...you could always settle for tinned. They're just over on the other aisle, by the beans.

Oh...hang on....you didn't actually want to know anything about hte peas...you wanted to know all about the values in export_descr_unit... which comes complete with a set of instructions at the top which tell you what the values do... and they don't make ANY mention of frozen veg. Maybe they will add that in a patch!

yea ummm. ok i looked at the instructions at the top of that document and i cant see which bit is the strength. im trying to create a unit of new hoplites by modding the militia hoplites, and i want to make them stronger in attack and defence. in the game when u wave ur mouse over them it says attack 8. defence 5. or pretty cose to that. what i want to no is which bit do i change, cause i cant find it.

Look for a line called :

stat_primary
This holds the attack details for the primary wepoan
stat_secondary
This is the secondary weapon (obviously)

As an example...this is the entry for the Triarii:

stat_pri 7, 7, no, 0, 0, melee, simple, piercing, spear, 25 ,0.73
stat_pri_attr no
stat_sec 0, 0, no, 0, 0, no, no, no, none, 25 ,1
stat_sec_attr no

So....when you compare that with the key at the top of the file, they have an attack value of 7, attack bonus factor of 7, no for missile weapon, 0 for range, 0 for ammo, weapon type is melee, tech level is simple, damage type is piercing, and the sound is spear, then you have a value to determine the attack speed.

No extra attributes for the weapon....and, as you can see from the 0 attack value, no secondary weapon either.

If you wanted to increase the attack power of hte unit, just increase the attack value.

For defence, look for :
stat_pri_armour.

Higher values mean stronger.
