Does any one listen or am I the lone man :help:
I'm sorry Anthony...
I hate country music. I just can't stand it.
Listen to some Metallica, Godsmack or Rage Against the Machine ~;)
Hey, I got a soccer tournament in Austin this weekend. I may call you later...
a violent and resounding "no" from me.
I like bluegrass. I like newgrass. I like real country, such as Doc Watson. I like singer songwriters like the late Townes Van Zandt. I like many different types of music which are on the fringe of what is now called "country" music, along with many other styles of music.
But if you mean the overproduced pop music which passes for country these days, then no. Never. The mindless crap that gets played on top 40 country radio and awarded at the CMA. That isn't country music. No thanks.
If you call Steve Earle, Townes van Zandt, The Peacemakers, and such alt-country ilk country then I'm a hard rockin' country music nut. But if you call country the stuff that comes from Nashville(you know the pop with a twang), then I hate country like a guy with a knife to my balls.
I think we killed Strike for the South, Bones!
Dammit, Jim! I'm a doctor not a country music critic! ~D
some of the country I like for refrence
Alabama
Johnny Horton
David allan coe
Pat Green
Blake Shelton
Charlie Dainels
Hank willams and his son
Oh and Dixie
Cash jeez who else am i forgetting :dizzy2:
OOoooo. Sorry. No.
Not my scene, really. That said, I've managed to see Ms. Dolly, Willie Nelson, Reba, and Johnny Cash in concert. They were all great shows. I just don't follow country music, own any country music, or listen to it on the radio. I guess the vibe doesn't speak to me, but I appreciate the great performers.
We're going to expand your horizons!
If you like David Allan Coe and Hank Williams Sr. then you will probably like Townes Van Zandt. Maybe not. What about Robert Earle Kean? You can go see him play live in his hometown just NW of you in Kerrville all the time. Maybe some Willis Allan Ramsey? The Flatlanders, or their individual efforts as Joe Ely, Butch Hancock and Jimmy Dale Gilmore?
Ill check some of those out and I have heard some of Keans stuff but hes from Kerrvile The more you know ~:cheers:Quote:

Hey I basicly hate country music. Its ggod old rock and roll ,blues and Jazz mostly for this oldman. At least these girls get me to listen to it. Hey I like Rebba and Bonnie Rait if thats country. Heck even the Allman Bros are too country for me. I was trying to be kind.
Besides how can you not like this?

Yeah Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, George Strait!
I love my country music. And no, I don't think the old joke is true (about what happens if you play a song in reverse).
And I do believe Country has the best looking women in US music ~D
