Ok now I guess you guys all have heard of this before but please read it anyway!I recently read a book on the spanish versus the aztecs.This would be an wesome new 4th tw game!
Let me tell you my ideas:3 spanish factions:
-cortez
-cuba
-spain
Now in history cortez went into mexico WITHOUT spanish authority.So the spanish colony of cuba sent soldiers into spain to kill cortez.Cortezs army with the help of native tribes defeated the spanish army from cuba and captured many of its soldiers!
-cortez faction-have VERY FEW numbers and only control one outpost.But certain cities in the area will defect to him and allow him to take them over.But very few of his soldiers will be spanish until he can defeat the cuban spanish.
-cuban spanish-have the whole island of cuba with its resources at their backing and can support a huge army unlike cortez.HOWEVER many natives will hate their guts and side with cortez.
Tlaxcalla-there was a native country with a name similiar to this but I cant exactly remember it.They were the sworn enemies of the aztecs and will ally with the cortez faction very easily.Not defect to him likely other aztec cities will but they will be his allies.
-Spanish faction:these will be like the senate and pope of mtw and rtw.Little military role but whichever spanish faction kills the otehr will receive "aid" from spain.That means that if cortez takes cuba and gets his technology up a little he will be able to import settlers by the THOUSANDS into his new lands and thus be able to gain more spanish soldiers.
New factors:2 populations.In rtw there is a population number for each city.I say 2 pops are needed.One for spanish people in the city and the other for natives.That means you will be able to have two technology trees instead of one like in the other tw games.One for natives and the other for the spanish.Controlling cuba is a priority for the cortez faction.If you play as his faction you must establish allies and bribe cities to defect to you from the aztecs(the aztecs will not attack you quite yet because they are wondering if you are a god or not).Once done here you must get many native soldiers and your elite small core of spanish soldiers and fight an initial cuban attack and repulse it.Once thats done you must quickly launch an attack against cuba so you can get trade routes to spain and get reinforcements from spain as well.
Aztec factors:Alright now in history the aztecs had colonial cities that gave them people to be sacrificed.This is a factor in the game.The aztecs will be able to have"colonies."The aztec faction does not get to control them directly but will get things like gold and sacrificial victims from them.They must beware however for the spanish can bribe these colonie very easily.Also colonies will act as city states and will feild their own small armies.Also if the aztecs get too weakened they face a colonial revolt.
Other factions will include the mayans,incas,portugese,tlaxcallans,and a few others.
So do you guys think this would be good for a new tw game?
