Am currently playing as the Danes in MTW with the VI. Although I am currently not ex-communicated nor ever have been, as the pope sometimes sends me florins, I can create monasteries but cant create crusades. Any suggestions why?

In the standard game (that is with no mods installed) not all catholic factions can crusade. The Danes being one of them. I think the Polish, and Hungarians also cannot.Quote:

For the record, the Monastery trains Inquisitors. The building you need for Crusade training is the Chapter House but, in the case of the Danes, it won't even appear in the building contructions list.
Historically, the Danes DID crusade but not to the Holy Land. From what I've read in forum threads, it seems they went eastwards, taking lands on the Baltic Coast. However, the game's emphasis was on Crusades to the Holy Land, so the authors chose to disable this option for the Danes. :embarassed:
You can also edit the files yourself (buildings and units). I suggest you get an editor if you're not used to altering the MTW files. Basically, all you have to do is add a chapter house to the Danes and choose crusader units. I would have been more specific and showed you which lines overwriting but, unfortunately, I don't have MTW installed on my computer right now.
