LOL OMG!!! Those people thought Austrailia was the country they said! Lmao..
That is insulting in way though, considering I an American and I know where Iran, North Korea, Sri Lanka, etc... are.

Uhm, no you didn't.
You said it wasn't journalism or even equitable. If that is the same thing as 'fake' to you, perhaps you should consult a dictionary or thesaurus.
Do you know what 'disingenuous' means?

Attention. Come to understand this term:
Quote:
Main Entry: dis·in·gen·u·ous
Pronunciation: "di-s&n-'jen-y&-w&s
Function: adjective
: lacking in candor; also : giving a false appearance of simple frankness :
Those who continue to be so will be called on it.
Crazed Rabbit
P.S. Oh, and I bet I know more geography than any 'intellectual' European.

You do do you?
The smaller the country the more likely the inhabitants are to know the rest of the world (one could argue that it is forced onto them).
In any case, have you guys noticed what is rollin by in the bottom?
"Man thinks of ex-girlfriend during sex" "Gym-freak wears sleeveless during subzero temperatures." ect ect... It is quite funny.
But since I don't know this channel/program, have they hired people or what?

Re: [vid] americans and their opinions (and a map!)
Come on guys lighten up ~

you normal europeans ~;) We kinda love america really, and love hurts. It is just stereotype bashing fun, nothing serious, and when we are serious they don't get the clue anyway.

Re: [vid] americans and their opinions (and a map!)
The video was only a slight exaggeration. If you pick and choose a group of Americans going in and out of a Walmart, you'll hear some answers like the responses in the video. There are some remarkably stupid, angry, insecure people here.
On the other hand, you will get some very thoughtful, intelligent answers as well. This place has some of the brightest and dimmest bulbs on the planet.
Unfortunately, the dimmest ones vote.

Just keep making the machines really confusing like in Florida.
Let's see them vote then!

That is very true. European countries can't even touch the depth in debate and political philosophy that graces the united states, it would be an achievement to find 1 book about a (ex)ruling president over here. Credit where it belongs, but we still look a whole lot better ~;)

Re: [vid] americans and their opinions (and a map!)
sigh. i did say it.
if it isn't journalism, and it isn't equal to journalism, what else could it be? it's a simple, logical process...
this is my own punishment for trying to be subtle (in my description) and just show a video i found funny.

Ah, so you aren't familiar with the word disingenuous.
Oh well, Rabbit. You gave it your best.
-
Re: [vid] americans and their opinions (and a map!)
i am familiar with the word. i'm also familiar with a certain phrase about arguing on the internet and the special olympics. so please continue with your arguments.

I feel like the only american which can accuratly fill in a map of Europe in about 5 minutes (that is, writing each nation, then coloring it in)

Yes Galloway was completely trounced in the "debate" with American politicians .~D ~D ~D If a gobshite like him can do it then why can't other Europeans ?
Oh and take a look in your local bookstore or library , you will find dozens of books on ex-presidents and a few on the current one as well .
It would be a hell of an achievement to find any in a place that doesn't have any books though Frag , I found it nearly impossible to find any at the local chip-shops , but I still found one that had a book on George Washington ~;)

Re: [vid] americans and their opinions (and a map!)
That reminds me of that segment This Hour Has 22 Minutes used to, called 'Talking to Americans'. Ol' Rick Mercer used to go around and ask Americans questions about Canada, doing things like getting them to sign petitions for the removal of the Canadian practice of putting their elders on ice floes and casting them off to sea. He also got Dubya to congratulate the Canadian Head of Government, President Poutine, on his "double double". Good stuff.

Re: [vid] americans and their opinions (and a map!)
I like the old guy:
Turn it into a [insert unoffensive pleasant adjective here] glass crater.
yaaaayyyyyy!!! I knew I wasn't alone in the world!!!!!!

Agree. Go to any major university in the nation, and I guarantee you won't hear that. Remember, I said MAJOR, not just any college.
-
Re: [vid] americans and their opinions (and a map!)
Boondock supports the glass crater idea as well.

Colo[u]r? Gah! Racism! You define countries with colo[u]r!?
[I assure you, that is a bad joke. ~D ]
Anyway, I believe I beat you to that. I'm well versed in the basics of World Geography. But, then again...I'm not really an American. Not yet, at least. I'm just an underprivileged young, ambitious, perfectly stereotypically Asian legal immigrant... :P

Re: [vid] americans and their opinions (and a map!)
I live in America, but I'll be the last to disagree with the fact that we have some stupid people here. Our public schooling is not as good as it should be at all.
We have two years of Texas history (state history) and two years of American history. In my opinion it's rediculous.
That is why I have to research everything I need to know by myself.
