Interesting... thank you! RTS as a game definition always makes me cringe, but this does look respectable.

Very interesting. I'll check it out...
(Like my name?~D )
This would only be fun if we could play as the Scythians who fought Philip.
Here's an update/article from the devs regarding combined arms in the game.
Sounds promising.

Looks very promising.
Looks promising, but I didnt like at all the "Spartans Lay Siege" thing. Looks really weird. :inquisitive:
I don't think I'm going to buy it.
For me, it's too much cartoon, not enough visually to impress me.
The sieges don't look authentic enough.
I am skeptical of the claims about supplies and etc.
I'm going to see what IGN, Gamespy, others say about before I take to it.
No cav? I saw a post on cav tactics whilst cruising their site.
Looks like it could be very nice.
CR
Cool. I must've missed this the first time the game was mentioned, as I'd not heard of it before. It definitely looks like it has potential.
I really don't understand the hostility for this game. I think people need to realize it is being made by a tiny (four man) independent developer on a shoestring budget. ANY foray into the historical strategy genre, however small, that also possesses a tactical aspect should be welcomed and receive all the love and attention it deserves. Don't condemn it until it has been released and thoroughly reviewed by the press and strategy community alike.
I also think people forget that the Total War games are extraordinary spectacles that sport a difficulty curve akin to the Bonneville Salt Flats. I can't remember being truly challenged by a TW game since the original Medieval and even then it had its share of problems. I don't like being given a gold star just for showing up and going through the motions every turn while the AI does its best to slash its own wrists at every opportunity.
Don't knock small developers. Galactic Civilizations 2 is a 4X space empire game made by a small developer called Stardock which sports a much smaller warchest than CA. And yet despite the lack of resources available GalCiv2 was crafted with an AI opponent so good it runs circles around everything out there.
I wish LDA Games the best of luck and hope Hegemony can deliver the goods.
Wow.
I just don't like and I'm telling you why.
Jee. Didn't expect the hostility.
Well, if the game is still bad the best I could give you is that only four people wasted their time doing this and luckily they didn't waste a lot of money on it.Quote:

I didn't mean to jump down people's throats but for those of us starved for an excellent strategic or tactical gaming experience that doesn't involve bad AI or *shudders* turn based, hex based gameplay, it's more than a little frustrating to see that only small, dedicated developers are the ones taking the risks to make these kinds of games. It's especially frustrating when big developers owned by massive publishers create games with mediocre AI that fail to challenge even though they have the talent and resources to do otherwise.
Looks promising
I hope that we'll get to control larger armies then shown in the screenshots, though (I can't stand playing RTW on less then large settings either)
i don't even remember i made this thread, from what i recall it looked really promising back in 2005 but now it looks a bit terrible and uninteresting unfortunately.
I mean the battle map and the small buildings and all that, if i recall earlier screenshots looked more tactical with beautiful terrain and such, but this is just not what i expected.
