If i will buy and install by will i be able to play the previous campaign as well like i could in MTW with VI? if i can not i will not buy it. I like the era that RTW covers.

Yes you can, it creates separate icon on desktop for launching BI. However if you like to play mods like Rome Total Realism there is no version for BI or RTW 1.3 (installing BI upgrades your RTW to version 1.3 automatically) yet.
you can't play your old saves with BI , however RTW isn't deleted from your pc, you can just switch back to RTW ( by switch I mean, just click on the RTW icon on your desktop instead of on the BI icon)
plus if you install BI your normal RTW get's patched too, meaning you get normal RTW the improvements BI brings.
