Delete the old directory and reinstall using the setup.exe (I'm guessing) from the RTW CD1
Should be easy enough
^^ DO NOT DO THAT!!!! ^^
If you simply delete your rtw folder, it will think you already have it installed (as the registery remains) and refuse to reinstall unless you prune the registery. Instead, run the uninstall.exe program (from the folder or from the start menu) and THEN delete the rtw folder, as the registery enteries will be deleted.
Trust me. I spend ~1 hour trying to install 1.2 (it refused to believe i installed in english!, and i eventually had to use the zip file) because of this!
send me the link for the zip file so i can download it since it wastn't in my rtw folder it may have been because i installed spqr or something
but can i install bi over spqr mod?
It's best to make two installations of RTW. One for whatever mod you want to use (in this case SPQR), and one for vanilla BI.
so i can install bi over spqr for rtw and bi will run?
Not really. What Kekvitirae meant was that you need to have a clean installation of the original RTW that you'll patch with BI. THEN, copy and paste that folder elsewhere and use it for SPQR. This method is handy when you don't want to uninstall and reinstall RTW all the time.Quote:

This also happened to me, I just reinstall RTW and try to uninstall again and it only work after the third try ~D
If you copy and paste your Rome folder, do you have to just delete the copy when you want to uninstall it or is the registry affected?
No, I don't think so...
So far I haven't been annoyed by my registry when using multiple RTW folders. Anyway, if trouble occurs, go the harsh way and delete the RTW entries in your registry. You shouldn't face any further problems afterwards. Attempt this only if you know what you're doing, though.Quote:

You don't want to erase the registry, trust me, just remove the part concerning RTW ~;)Quote:

Afterwards, follow the instructions step by step: Start > Run > type regedit in the box and here you've entered the registry.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > THECREATIVEASSEMBLY
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > TheCreativeAssembly
They are the registry entries you want to delete (only the TheCreativeAssembly branch). If I'm not mistaken, once you remove it, RTW will have completely disappeared from your database and you should therefore be able to reinstall RTW properly.
thank you very much ill try it once i get back to my dad since im leaving for my moms in an hour so...
