Anyone playtested modded sm_factions?
If you remove shadowed_by etc. for WRE and ERE they still have the loyalty attribute ingame. Does this affect the gameplay in any way? If they become traitors, do they go to the slave faction? If so, is it possible to mod so that all factions have this system?
I haven't playtested the effects of removing shadowed_by so I don't know. If someone has already researched this I don't need to, otherwise I might do it.
Another idea, could we make all factions shadowed_by the slave faction in order to achieve the desired result? If there's no reply in two days I'll research this myself and post an update here.
Re: Anyone playtested modded sm_factions?
I know at least that the Loyalty attribute is only active for characters belonging to a faction of the Roman culture.
For others it has no effect.
Re: Anyone playtested modded sm_factions?
You mean there's no way to add it? I thought CA unhardcoded all this stuff.
Re: Anyone playtested modded sm_factions?
Well, try it ;)
The only factions that have it (and they get it automatically) are the Roman ones.
Re: Anyone playtested modded sm_factions?
So it is tied to roman culture? If a faction is given roman culture, does it get the loyalty then?
Re: Anyone playtested modded sm_factions?
Yes...
And if you change the culture of the two empires to anything else, they lose it.

Not possible, causes CTD at end turn. It appears that every "shadowed_by" must be matched by a "shadowing".
Still not tested:
- do roman culture still have problems with low loyalty generals?
- the CTD problem when ERE and WRE are eliminated mentioned in another thread.
Will be tested soon
Re: Anyone playtested modded sm_factions?
I did some test, they can hold loyalty, traits that give + loyalty are thiers, in fact every child that comes of age gets +4 loyalty starting. I ahve a feeling that the civil war code may be hard coded, it may not be as simple as 0 loyatly + shadowing faction means rebellion. ill keep workign on it.

Actually, +4loyalty is given with "hidden" LoyaltyStarter trait.
Re: Anyone playtested modded sm_factions?
yes, im very well aware of that, but starting non roman family members do not get it. thats why i said ever child that comes of age (and yes marriage and adoption) gets +4 loyalty.

Yep. Even the Romano-British (who have no shadowing faction) have loyalty.
Re: Anyone playtested modded sm_factions?
Ah, that is interesting. Do the romano_british get problems with deserting generals then? And deserting generals, to which faction do they go - slave?
Re: Anyone playtested modded sm_factions?
I think loyalty rating does do anything them, if there is no some shadowed faction.
Could be good idea for developer team to tie loyalty to "shadowed" instead to roman culture.
Re: Anyone playtested modded sm_factions?
I think the question is if you have a shadow faction shadowing a non culture faction do they still revolt, easiest way to test that is give some general a big - loyalty trait.

I don't know about that, but I do know that the loyalty still affects bribing cost, assassination chances and some other factors.
