RTW Modding Questions

Hi, I am probably the ultimate newb when it comes to RTW modding, and I have two questions...

I dont wholely understand exactly how the modding system works for this game, but from what I've gathered when you mod you are directly editing the RTW game files, there isnt really a mod system(like Morrowind), you just change the game itself. Is this at all correct?

I want to make my own campaign, with a completely new map, units, buildings, events, factions, etc... I have found tutorials covering most of these subjects, making new units maps buildings, and have even used the Caligula and Hadrian and dabbled with TiME, but I still cannot understand fully what I would need to do to create a new campaign(the reason I cannot understand this is probably rooted from my first question....) I was wondering if there was some sort of New Campaign tutorial that at least tells me what I need to do to get my campaigns name to show up under Imperial Campaign?

Once I know these two things the tutorials already on the forums will be of great use, but right now I cannot seem to put everything together in my mind.

Yes your right, the exe loads a whole ton of external files. By modifying those files, we modify the game.

Are you modding BI or normal RTW. The above tutorial is yet to be updated for BI, theres now an extra part where you have to use an hgt converter for the map heights.

Ahh, a tutorial I spotted at the end of my search, I didn't look at it, instead I decided to post this, ironic....

I use just RTW now, but hope to get BI soon....
