Im not one to genrally moan about this game, but when I installed BI I was absolutely dismayed at the unit appearances and detail. Compared to Vanilla RTW they really suck.
The detal that went in to all the RTW Roman and other faction units were pretty cool to behold on the battle map. In BI it looks like RTW Predecesor rather than sequel.
Anyone else agree?
Unfortunately yes. OTOH the battlefield maps are cleaned up with superb coastlines and all feats like mines, watchtowers are now fully viewable. I enjoyed BI for about two months and all the new feats like night battles, religion, loyalty etc etc but am now back to RTR 6.2. The skinners have done a superb job (CA should make the a job-offer) and the units are a delight to see.Quote:

Must say I agree.
This is one of the first games that I the prefer the original over the expansion.
There are some great new features in BI, but I can't seem to enjoy it the same as RTW.
specially as the Roman faction.
Just isn’t fun to begin with such a large empire.
I rather build up my civilization from scratch.
Don’t get me wrong though.
Still is an amazing game.
