Faction Destroyed....or is it?

I'm playing the Franks in my first BI game, and I was being besieged in Aquitaine by four family members of the Goths and the remnants of their horde. I killed them all, and got the "Faction Destroyed" message. But two countries (over by Thrace) still show as being owned by the Goths, many turns later. Have they come back to life? Is this a bug or a feature? If I attack these countries, can they still horde even though they've supposedly been destroyed?

A couple of things spring to mind - is it possible it's the Ostrogoths you can see? Or is it just on the mini-map that it shows up as Goths? In which case it could just be that you haven't sent an army/spy/diplomat that way since the destruction of the Goths, so you're seeing historical info.

The mini-map does not update automatically. It shows what you saw the last time you could see those areas.

but if you right click on the big map on the area you see that belongs to the gots (on the mini-map) it will tell you who is the curent owner of that province

In other words, the settlement name updates, the map doesn't.
