I'm REALLY annoyed about spears!

Okay, i can model OK and have started work on a greek mod with xerxes' invasion etc.

I wanted to make persian immortals for a while, and edited eastern archers so their secondary weapon would be a spear.
I saved a hoplite spear previously and tried EVERYTHING-

It looks like it should on max, but i don't know what i'm doing wrong.

Tried to change descr_model battle so that the combat spear thing was there
Export units to make them into spearmen
tried to texture them

NOTHING WORKS!?

Plz help because i am soooo annoyed and even so, thought there wasn't any tutorial to swap weapons

just to clarify, did you try holding down alt when you attacked with them?

yeah i did.

Did you give them a different name? Because using the same name as the original unit (i.e. swapping the model but keeping the original file's name) will not work because the game will look in the pack file first and use that.

Take a look at Forester Warbands. They are archers with spears. Make sure your format is like theres and see if that works.
