Bagpipes in Battle
Now, I know the British Army sent pipers into battle in the First World War, what with the illustrious Piper of Loos -- Link
And that they sent pipers into battle in the Second World War, with the recent song about the piper on the beaches at D-Day -- Link
Pipers are still technically sent into battle, but as Medics (Combat Medical Technicians, I believe the British Army calls them). So when the British Army stop sending pipers into battle to play the bagpipes?
