I, personally, could use your help
Aside from work on buildings, scripts, traits, and unit stats, I'm the only one who generally does the work on the text files. I'm really. really slow, and have given up a lot to do this work. I am positive that there are super-text guys out there. I worked with Gaius Julius when we first started RTR and he would make changes in a few hours that would take me a week.
We could really use someone who likes to work with the text files and is quick at it to take over much of, or most of, what I do now. Please consider this, as you play the OB. So much of what is wrong is due to me, so you could fix quite a bit.
Re: I, personally, could use your help
~;) so..why not contact caius?
i mean, teh RTR-vs-EB beef is just fans-vs-fans...
Re: I, personally, could use your help
I could help change simple things in the text files... When i got sick of vanilla i made some changes to some things in the game myself... Removed certain units, changed the starting armies of factions, gave units more defence and morale to make battles last a while longer... You know simple easy things like that... So if anything like that needs doing i'll be glad to help share the workload.
Re: I, personally, could use your help
Gaius Julius? No, he is the reason I left RTR, and it has nothing to do with the fans.
Re: I, personally, could use your help
Contacting Gaius Julius would be pretty hard anyway. I think he meant Caius Brittanicus, who is working on The Crusades now, though he was in RTR for a long time.
Re: I, personally, could use your help
Caius has a reputation as a pretty fast coder, but dunno if he can spare the time. bouis (an expert coder) also appears to have returned, at least for the moment, but alas, I doubt he'd be willing to code for EB.
Re: I, personally, could use your help
Why wouldn't he? If i could do any of the things you guys wanted apart from playtesting i'd jump at the chance to get my name on the "thanks also to:" list... What with this being the best thing ever to happen to RTW when it is finished and all... Also when i become a history teacher later in life i will certainly be using this game and EB to aid me in teaching... :gring:
