Re: Oil: scalding, or not?
i think they took out the "friendly fire" part of RTW. i hav noticed that my archers and javelin armed troops don't kill each other if they fire while their formations are overlapping like they did in RTW, not sure if they kill my men wen they fire into a melee though.
Re: Oil: scalding, or not?
I think I've taken out my own calvary when I order my lower ranks to throw javelins.
The oil thing is wierd. You don't have enough troops on the map to actually take a huge beating from an oil splash. If the RTW engine could support realistic army sizes, then I believe the oil drop would take out everyone underneath it. But we don't have a 1:1 scale. So when men die from oil burns, think of each unit as 10 men or something.
Re: Oil: scalding, or not?
That's not the point Chester. It's the fact that none of their guys are hurt when boiling oil cascades over their unit.
And friendly fire still exists but it has been realistically reduced.
