Re: Disturbing the peace?
I've had a English campaign where Europe was at peace for more than 50 years, a very prosperous time especially for my and my trade network. Then my king dies and my heir stationed in Flandres moves to Wessex to become king and HRE instantly invades Flandres (my heir was had 5 or 6 command stars). All of a sudden every allie ditches my and my ships are under attack from every seafaring nation. On land it was no problem as my armies were to big to be threatned.
This kind of shows how delicate world peace can be
Re: Disturbing the peace?
I've had that happen too, where there was a long time of peace. Then, all of the sudden I (being the Danish) were attacked by Novgorod, The Germans, France, and Egypt all in the same turn. What I think is weird is when you give them aid against their enemy and the next turn they turn around and attack you...

they were just using you. it's a dog-eat-dog world out there in MTW.
i have also noticed this sometimes...in VI particularly, sometimes as soon a you invade someone the Picts attack the Scots, the Scots attack the Irish and there's Vikings everywhere raiding and pillaging...

It's may be a "dog-eat-dog" world, but they were morons for attacking me. They only had 1 province, a depleted army, and no heirs. Let's just say after they attacked me I kicked the crap out of them.

Its not unusual to be attacked when your heir takes over (even from allies) - you were probably already big (and rich) when owning Flanders and the AI doesn t like that. When your new heir started out with much less influence than the late father there is a chance that strong neigbours will attack (and you withdrew the strong general too). n/m Aragon and both lands north or the Danish and Saxony or Sweden if you hold it. - they also will always attack no matter what sooner or later (at least in Vanilla MTW)
