50K what can I do?

Is there a practical and logical way to stay under 50K? Is it

Im playing as the Julii and take-over Medialanium/Patavium/Segesta...with Aretium and Arrimunum...in any case...pretty soon I am at the 50K (and rising) I usually end up giving around 5K every other turn to Spain...

Anyone have any ideas on how to spend lots of money?

-I dont want the 'flexible'-type traits
-fielding huge armies prevents me from ever getting the 'command' bonuses

Is the best way to just recruit a lot of soldiers just to increase expenses? That doesnt seem...practical...

Or when you need to get rid of cash fast, just queue up loads of buildings at your cities. It takes the money as soon as you order the building, short term but it works.

you can bribe family members... they always come in useful..

Or give it to allies (assuming you´ve got some). It might pay back later. I, for instance, was i one instance given the task to get Damascus back (I held it, then the city revolted and the Seleucids took over). I was reluctant to attack, because the Seleucids had been a staunch ally during my war against Egypt, but somewhere along the line I had gifted them some 40,000 denarii, to avoid hitting the 50k threshold. So, when I had to get Damascus back I had to think up some way to get the Seleucids want to go to war with me, and I pestered them with a diplomat, asking for land to be handed over. And, surprise, they handed over Damascus on a silver platter, nice as you please. To use a quote: "Not exactly what I had in mind, but it will do". I wonder who´ll know where that line is from...

you could use this on a larger scale, this requires to surpass all of the trigger levels though....once you've amassed around 300,000 denarii, it becomes a worthwhile option to 'buy' yourself some protectorates. which admittedly will refill the coffers even faster, but hey..the next protectorate awaits...

this is for 1.2, though. since BI I never managed to convince the AI to become a protectorate of mine. probably it just takes an even more ridiculous amount of money...
