Modding Prices

I just signed up here, but have been looking on the forums for a while. I just updated from 1.3 after having the game ever since it came out. I had a question concerning the patches. Before I used a little helper/cheat when I was in a desperate situation during campaigns. I went into the Total War directory and changed the price of watchtowers to -5000 dollars. Now that I've updated the game the price of the watchtowers has gone back to being 200 or something. I went back to change the price again, but it hadn't changed, it was still -5000. I saved the file again and restarted my computer and everything, but it still doesn't work. I was wondering if there is anyway to get this to work with the new updates. I know cheating is highly frowned upon, but I could use some help. Thanks.

instead of changing the prices of watch towers press the button bellow Esc (in america it is the tilde key ~ but on my keyboard (british) it is like this wierd gun thing ¬ :dizzy2: ) during the game
that brings up the RomeShell then type in add_money 20000 but change the '20000' to however much you want and that gives you that money...

it not quite changing the prices of watch towers but :juggle2:
