Perhaps this post is a little stupid, but this problem has been driving me mad for at least four days.
When a unit changes its aspect in our mod, I usually change also slightly the name. This is an example:
This is a simple method to prevent packing lots of files, given that the unit card will be named #CARTHAGINIAN_PELTAST2.tga and the info picture CARTHAGINIAN_PELTAST2_INFO.tga. The name is also changed in the rest of files (export_units, descr_rebel_factions, descr_strat).Quote:

I've made this routinely with numidians, carthaginians, greeks, gauls, dacians... and romans. I got crash to campaign menu when trying to start a campaign, but -show_err is completely useless. As macedon is not used in the mod I always get a error about the maximum settlement level for macedon.
After 2-days research in old versions, I remarked that it was the new names the responsible for this crash, but only the romans (roman_hastati2, etc).
Does anybody know which roman units must appear in export_descr_units and why?
Finally I've remarked that it is enough to rename the dictionary (roman_hastati2, in second line) but not the type (roman hastati, in the first line). In this way the game recognizes the needed unit, and it is not necessary to pack the cards and info_pics.
Sorry if this information was known, but for me it has been a nightmare in the last days.:embarassed:
