All of those are rock except one (the last one)

Kraftwerks techno but alot of German rock and metal are influenced by them.

Kraftwerk is one of the most important bands ever. Just as influencial as the Beatles IMO. Without them, no electronic elements in music. :help:

I really dislike Rammstein though. I don't know, I just don't enjoy anything about them.

The Kraftwerk show I went to last year was great fun. Anyone who's seen them should also see Bill Bailey's parody.

What, because Rammstein played a cover of Das Modell (which was originally written after Kraftwerk had turned techno-pop) on an EP? I'm familiar with all of these bands (hilariously, the ones linked from http://herzeleid.com) and none have any audible Kraftwerk influence.

Metal is a whole other bag of worms, but no more true than the rock bands listed above.

Rammstein has admitted that Kraftwerk is one of their main influences, as has Oomph.

Whats hilarious about herzeleid? I'm most hated member of their forums (voted!)

It's hilarious because there's more to the scene than the few links that the webmaster put up on the page.

They are not quite German, the band was started in Paris, by two Germans, but later moved to america and has had an international membership(sort of). The name is German though, that's something to be happy about.

Actually, the older brother of Chuck Schuldiner (of Death) played guitar for the Scorpions. Rock you like a Hurricaaaane.

Knorkator is a German Industrial Rock whose music I rather enjoy. They don't take themselves too seriously, which is a nice change.

Megaherz, Tanzwut and Eisbrecher are also splendid bands and Alexx Wesselsky (the singer of eisbrecher and ex-singer of megaherz) is one the greatest rock musicians ever. Yeah and Nena of course.. :) She's my favourite, but it's rather pop.

You talk about German music without mentioning the MIGHTY Blind Guardian?!

PFTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!

Blind Guardian all the way, possibly the best display of a power metal band ever.
