I figured I might as well ask here:
Anyone know if the epigonoi and epigones in Ptolemaic papyri and inscriptions are the same group of people? Or if the epigonoi/es are equivalent to the kleruchs?
Sorry its off topic, but at least maybe it has potential for stimulating discussion? Especially when some epigones are described as anything from Thracian to Persian to Syracusan, but have names that may be Gallic, Greek, or even (potentially) Egyptian.
