Introduction and ship modding question

Hello, I'm new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself. I've veen playing MTW and STW for a couple of years now, and have got into Napoleonic TW, it's the best one yet!

As for modding, I wanted to change the ship properties, to cut down on thier movement distance. I've tried the Gnome editor 2.0, which I can see how it changes troop units, but not ships. Is it possible to change the ships like this, if so, could someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.
