I currently own Alexandreia as the Seleucid Empire. I have received the quest of sending the body of Alexandrios back to Pella, but have yet to do that. In the save game, when I give Alexandreia to an enemy faction and immediately retake it, a CTD happens no matter which faction I give it to, and no matter whether the army that takes it has a general or a captain.

OK, I ran some tests:
1) Loaded your game, removed the garrison from Alex, contacted the Yuezhi (who I'm at war with), gave them Alex no-strings-attached, and then walked a Thanbara archer in to claim the city. There were no defenders, thus no attack. I enslaved the poulation, and then the game continued - no CTD.
2) I did exactly the same thing, except the second time I activated the game script. Instant CTD....cut the guy off in mid-voice it was so fast. So it's definitely script related.
3) As an additional test, I activated the game script and gave Hekarompylos to the Yuezhi and grabbed it right back. No CTD. So it REALLY sounds like this is related to the Alexander's Body mission. You could try and work around this by not activating the script.
4) I ran one last test to see if the mission is somehow canceled by losing the city. This time i gave the city away (script not activated), recaptured the city, and then activated the script. That worked (no CTD), but when I tried the same trick on the next turn (with the script now activated), it CTDd. So much for that idea.
I'll ask the scripting guys to look into this further. Thanks for reporting the bug!
FYI, I CTDed the moment right when the army "entered" the city, as it does for any settlement that it takes after a victorious battle.
Also, I noticed that I keep getting quite a few CTDs when I click the end turn button, but they were gone when I demolished the Tomb of Alexandros in Alexandreia. Before that, I repaired the tomb to full health (100%). Perhaps repairing the tomb will cause CTDs for Seleukia?
I'm playing as the macedons, and everytime I capture Alexandros the same thing happens. I've never owned it before, and I'm taking it from the ptolemies. I'm going to play around with it more later, I'll put up a save if I cant figure anything out.
Thanks guys. The team is looking into this, but getting confirmation that it's more than just a semi-exploit bug is VERY helpful.
Okay, havent had much time to play around with it. mmm.
I tried a few different ways, with the script running, I captured Alexandros from Ptolemies with general,=CTD (Instantly upon capture after auto-resolve battle),
Captured Alexandros from Ptolemies with Captain=Exact same results.
I reloaded, then captured Alexandros without the script running.
No CTD, then activated the script. If I end the turn without destroying the tomb, I get a CTD. If I destroy the Tomb before I end the turn, no CTD, and the mission seems to work. I used "move_character" to just get him to pella and see if I got the script, and it worked fine. No CTDs after it....So thats a workable work around for now.
