MTW Modding Question
My apologies if I am posting in incorrect forum, but it seems this is the only forum I have access to as a noob
My question is, does anyone perhaps know how to modify the saved SP campaign files? .cpg? For example I would like to be able to edit the cpg to change my faction.
I have tried viewing this file with a hex editor and I dont recognise the format, do they encrypt it or are they using a certain data storage format?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Re: MTW Modding Question
To my knowlegde you can switch factions using command switch. Right click on your MTW shortcut, go properties and replace the -strictserver to -ian. While in game you may switch factions by pressing number keys; 1 through 0 and shift+1 through shift+0. Assuming you have an unmodded game Rebel is 1, Almohad is 2, Byzantine is 3, Sicilian is shift+0 and so on. The order is in the faction declaration in startpos files.
Modding that cpg file is unheard of lol. It will probably just corrupt your saved game.

Re: MTW Modding Question
Thanks very much for the info, will give it a try
I dont have any command line parameters at the moment, so I just create a shortcut with the argument "-ian" and thats it?

Re: MTW Modding Question
I tried this and it works, thanks alot, do you perhaps know how I would go above the faction 0?
I am running a modded version and it I would need it to cycle above the 10's if you know what I mean. I tried holding te numbers at the same time, but it didnt work.
