Scientology, Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, and Other Entertainment Madness
Figured we need a thread for all the wack jobs in hollywood. I'm very very curious as to what our international friends think of the American Entertainment industry and all of its pomp, flair, and self-important bloviating.
Here's a good article to warm you up to the thread.

This is perfectly normal. If I were the baby, I would grow up angry that they didn't freeze the placenta and save it for ME to eat. Didn't you ever notice a dog licking its no-no after giving birth? I wonder if Tom will purr when he eats it.

I am sure that there are crazy celebs everywhere but ours have got to be the worst.:dizzy2:

For the sake of fairness to Tom Cruise, I should point out that as a Daily Mirror article half of the quotes are probably made up.

Does he know that a placenta is full of female hormones?

Re: Scientology, Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, and Other Entertainment Madness
Maybe old tom was repying tongue in cheek? I know the fella is a bit daft but this placenta stuff is garbage, i'm sure he is taking the rise.

Is that the same as taking the mickey?

Re: Scientology, Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, and Other Entertainment Madness
Yeah mate, just means taking the mick which he was definetly doing but those daft sods in the press probably believed every word. They print garbage and just wanted another story filled with mis-quotes to feed to the stupid masses like they always do.

Oprah is freaky. End of story.

Re: Scientology, Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, and Other Entertainment Madness
Top news post kind of summarises a lot of what is wrong about Scientology.
(It's an anti-suicide charity aimed at teenagers, which wants to expand or something. Anyway, Scientology opposes it because it's based on psychology...)

Scientology is a religion for the rich idiots in our society. All those scientologist are the idiots who escaped from the looney bin and are protesting their insanity.

As you're only asking for opinions, wich will be mostly uninformed from my side, then I'll give only that. I think that the industry of entertainment in the USA is worst than the mafia. And I think that they realese like 19 bad movies out of 20 every year, and even worse TV shows, at least what reaches cable TV here. I prefer independent movies and european ones, but I prefer the shows from the USA, even if they usually turn into pure crap eventually. I never thought it as considered to be "pomp" though.
I'm not surprised by this phenomenum of scientology, it appears to me like a desperate measure by desperate people who're loosing their fate. People with lots of money and lots of time to waste, will usually waste it in the most absurd of concepts. Just another religion...

I got done, and could tell you a very VERY interesting story. My partner warned me ... et.al. But that's for a different audience at another time due to personal circumstances at present.
Considering I got right royaly stiffed, am the most cautious person I know! and have 140 IQ apparently , I've now devoted quite a bit of time to researching this subject and the following are some eye opening links for you all...

Those who love you try to tell you things in difficult ways sometimes. Learned that too...even if excruciatingly late.

Re: Scientology, Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, and Other Entertainment Madness
Oddly enough I had just downloaded some anti-scientologist material from Clambake today, photocopied it and put it in my bag. They frequently 'campaign' or leaflet the high street and I keep meaning to spend a lunchtime counter-leafletting.
