[Music]Five Iron Frenzy

Anyone still listen to them (or did listen to them)? They broke up in 2004, but I've just gotten into them, especially the newer songs.

Christian Ska eh? Get John Brown's Body's album "Among Them". It's a modern classic. It's practically a Christian album too.

If you hear FIF's Old West or maybe American Kryptonite or Oh, Canada you'll realize the "Christian" part is equal to the "awesome" part.

And the newer (2003) material is a kind of ska/hardcore mix. American Kryptonite is an example.

FIF doesn't sound like John Brown's Body's much at all...

I see. I listened to the samples and the older "Old West" is third-wave ska while the newer "American Kryptonite" is more like punk-rock, but not ska at all.

Ska is a Jamaican music (1st wave = 60s) and progenitor of Rocksteady/Reggae music. Basically, third-wave ska (90s) with Christian lyrics (sorta like Christian Rock).
