Cant build mine? And where are the crossbows?

Hi there!

I just the TW gold edition, meaning TW+viking Invasion.

I've gone thrue the manual, and can't find answers to the following questions there:

Why can't I build a mine in a provins where there is Iron?

And, Why can't I produce a crossbowman, when I have the second arcery building?

Hope someone will take a moment to enlighten me.

Easy Answer Mate

Iron is not a mineable resource. It is used Weapons upgrades on your troops. Each Level of metalsmith adds +1 to your units Weapons, making them FAR more effective in Battle.

Crossbows won't appear until the High Era, so if you start out in Early you won't be able to train Crossbow men until you reach 1220 or so.

Actually, iron just means you can build a Metalsmith in that province, which gives all units trained there an attack bonus (dependent on what level of Metalsmith you've built). Iron isn't needed to upgrade armour, just an Armourers Guild (and the like).
