Have you ever been banned from any forum?

I was banned permanently from a forum for spamming it when I was younger (like 12 y/o). I am currently on a 2 week ban from forums.civfanatics.com for (supposedly) trolling:inquisitive:, flaming:inquisitive:, failure to respect the authority of the moderators, creating mulitple accounts and argueing with other users:oops:. Recently I also got a ban warning from another forum for being negative (no kidding). But seriously I am a mild person and I don't intentionally try to get banned, its just sometimes when I have bad days I am suddenly negative. I also hate it when I'm debating with someone and they contradict them selves and generally act like hypocrates. Some people just know how to wind me up.

I hope not to have to engage in any serious debating here. Because sooner or later someone's going to do something that really annoys me, which will result in me really getting mad!

So, have you ever been banned/threatened with a ban before?

I got banned from this forum. It's a long story, and I probably shouldn't go into too much detail, but it had to do with a Mod in a generous mood and my insatiable curiosity. I wanted to see what a ban looked like. 'Nuff said. Took a while to repair after the deed was done.

yes, from two.

my first was a gaming board called Pharaoh Heaven. if you think this gaming board's rules are too soft and pollyanna, you should have seen theirs.

the second was politics board. i've been banned there a few times, all temp bans, however. i continue to operate there and the risk of another banning is always present.

Never received anything as much as a warning point, let alone a ban, and since I don't frequent any other forum I voted the fourth option.

There is a certain amount of satisfaction in getting banned. I dunno why...but it kind of neutralises the whole idea of being punished.

I got Ban from .net,about 8 times or more,For Spamming,Spamming,Flaming,More Flaming,Dissing Mods.. I got Ban from .com 2 times,For Dissing CA and Flaming.. and I got 2 Warning Points Here as of now..

yeah from the RTR fourm for a bit for posting some music videos about muslims and i got band from this one for a bit not sure why

lol yeah.. it funny, I would be on .net,and I get ban like,3 days later,come back 2 weeks,get ban 3 days later,or 1,lol.. then I stay for 2 months, mabye 2 1/2 Months, but I spam like, 587 posts in a 2- 2 1/2 month time span,so they ban me then,and ban me one more time after that when I tried to come back,lol..

i have been threathened with a ban on several forums, though ive never been banned. unless you count in the temporarely bans from the org...

Not even a warning here. I normally avoid outright personal attacks. I make attacks, but usually on statements and arguments or vaguely-defined groups of outside people (that may or may not include forumers by association).

If I respect the forumer, I don't want to attack them; if I don't respect her/him, it's not worth my effort—and they don't need my help to look like an idiot anyway.

Once, like three years ago. This really annoying guy had a forum, only like 10 active members or so, so meh...just spammed it because he annoyed me. The guy laugh now looking back :D (but he couldn't actually ban me, I used to have an IP that changed, I hadn't d/ld a proxy or anything, it just...changed, so an IP ban didn't work :P)

But nowadays I'm a nice little forumer :)

i guess i also hold the record for most warnings for a single post. 6 for one post and barely anyone read it :S

Yep. Here. And plenty of warnings (usually 'cause I'm drunk). Here's a selected few from my misadventures:

I think I should note that the mods here are actually quite fair and consistent. If you get a warning, you probably deserved it. :sweatdrop:

yeah and i agree...:P i think i never saw a warning that was totally undeserved...but they do make mistakes which ussually can be solved by just ask or explain to them polite what the deal is

No, I think I've banned a couple of people though.

Oh and Stranger, 6 warning points for one post is small potatoes. I gave some guy who was posting Bin Laden speeches in the EH 15 points for the one post once.

Nope. But the mods have PM'd me a couple of times to let me know I was sailing a tad too close to the wind. Although they were too polite to say a ban was imminent, the threat was implied. They're a good bunch on here, they don't just wade in with the big stick. So, not a bad record for six years, especially as I can be a little, how can I say, 'abrasive', 'annoying', 'sarcastic', etc.

PS Hey Apache. How do you get banned from Tesco!? I'm impressed!

You were banned from a HG aub site? What the hell did you do, post warez? That's about all they hand out bans for. That and constant flamming.

Nope, but I did get to watch Lemurs banning. It was quite a show, but I fear if I go into further detail a certain moderator may silence me....

About some Armenian and pro-American stuff, I was emotionally triggered and was driving the speech on the person rather than the approaches. I had one major and one minor warning once. However, as I always stated before as well, the moderator staff -of which I'm proud of being one as a rookie- has a great deal of ability to understand and shift manners the way it is accustomed here. :bow:
