If you expect it to take that long you better use a download manager or you are going to be in a world of hurt when that connection dies randomly!!
i have dial-up. i downloaded a demo called Rise&Fall which was 421MB or 412MB took me 30-25-21 hours to download (with a download manager) but the connection got messed up when i resumed the download the file was corrupt and i couldnt play it. hell no am i downloading it again! :furious3:
It says 29 hours but I can’t keep it on all the time so its going to take ages
before you sleep download it. and when you wake up you should make some progress! :2thumbsup:Quote:

Or amaybe broadband via satellite or something like that, I always have to laugh when hearing someone has only 56k.
There is not really any need for you to be so dismissive of someone for not having broadband.Quote:

I don't think laughing at him is helping here.
All I can suggest is a download manager, and leave it running through the night. Or maybe a cybercafe if you can save it to cd?
GetRight is the best choice if you want to download and if you want to stop it, you can continue the download later...
I´m not dismissive, I just can´t help laughing when comparing the download speeds.Quote:

I’m home for the summer and my area (a little village in the middle of nowhere) has no broadband yet but its coming. Apparently
OK Husar, I maybe misunderstood you. I apologise. :2thumbsup:
Zombie, I guess if you are in the middle of an area with no broadband, my other suggestion will be no good. I was going to suggest taking your PC tower round to a friends house that has broadband.
If you are anywhere near me in West Yorks, you can come round and use mine man. ~D
ZombieFriedNuts, if you can get enough people in your village to sign a petition, then local ISPs have to give your village broadband. Obviously difficult but i thought it was worth mentioning.
I was misinformed, apparently we have got broadband but it’s with a rubbish and expensive provider, just waiting till something better comes along i suppose.
actually i live in a more urban area.Quote:
