need help with a webcam!!!!!

well ive got this webcam logitech quickmessanger and i lost the cd a few months bak i recently restored my computer to the begining . i go on the logitech website download the software for the webcam. i install follow all the instructions and then restart my comp after installation . the comp restarts and i tells me to plug in the cam to the usb i do but the cam wont link to the installation i think its something to do with the drivers looked everywhere didnt know where to turn can any1 help?

Had you by chance attached the camera previously before installing the drivers?

i think i did i know thats a big problem but i unistalled verything and did it again loading software first it didnt work
