Although born in Lancashire (the real numero uno county :laugh4: ) I've lived and worked in Yorks. for 26 years. Anyway, have a happy Yorkshire day to all the Tykes on the Org.

Luxury. We used to have to get out of the lake at six o'clock in the morning, clean the lake, eat a handful of 'ot gravel, work twenty hour day at mill for tuppence a month, come home, and Dad would thrash us to sleep with a broken bottle, if we were lucky!

I've spent over half my life living in Yorkshire, but i'm currently here near St Helens. Shame really.

To get here though we had to wake up 5 hours before we went to sleep, then go down the mines working a 16 hour shift to get enuff coal for the steam buggy to run. Then we 'ad t' go o'er the pennines, through Manchester. Then once we get here we 'ad to jump in a freezing lake to wipe off all the coal dust.
