At last, I have a way to arm my children at bedtime! Behold! The Armor of God PJs!
Gots ter gets me some o' those!
You too can protect your kids from the evils of the world,
for only $39.95 (plus shipping)!
I love the fact that you get a free New Testament with every PJ purchase. Not a full Bible, just the New Testament. Do they not want to subject kids to the fire and brimstone Old Testament stuff, or maybe the Old Testament is just a bit too, um, Jewish for the kinds of people who would buy this stuff. Couldn't find any info on the version you get, be interesting to know.
I wonder if these are fire-retardant, or are the parents and purveyours relying on the will of God to keep the children from emulating the Burning Bush? :inquisitive:
Looks like something Ned Flanders would get his kids.... :laugh4:
It doesn't help that the kid to the right looks like a dork who'd grow up to be a full-blown 1331-wannabe, WoW-crazed, pwnager idiot -- as is particularly plausible in stereotypical middle class families of great religious qualities -- at fifteen. :sweatdrop:
...and he'd probably be wearing that to play Dark Age of Camelot or something...
Hehehehe, stupid Christians. Hehehee, let's make fun of them, they're all that we still can.
What do you care if somebody reads the bible and actually espouses the metaphors and teachings held within? Man, talk about ugly.
It's okay to have your kid in Snoop Dog pajamas or any other current entertainment icon, but you're an unfit parent if you dare to use religious symbolism.
So?
You guys don't have a problem with Power Ranger jammies do you?
Hm, you're taking this a bit seriously.Quote:

These PJs, on the other hand, are hilarious. The subject of the joke is neither Christianity nor Jesus, but rather a silly product meant to capitalize on both. If you can't make that distinction ...
It's worse than that.....he's dead Jim!!
Engerlund....Engurlund.....
[what have i done?] :sweatdrop:
I don't argue that somebody is trying to capitalize on somebody else's rather simplistic faith, as the armour of God St. Paul described in Ephesians was clearly a metaphor, even to the original readers at the time of it's writing. Now, you didn't mention a price. For all I know, these are available for a nominal donation.
What's more, there seems to be a certain idea that Chrisitans (fundamentalist and others) are the last group left that it's PC to ridicule. Being a not-so-fundamentalist Christian, I do take issue with the ongoing portrayal of the simple stupid rubes that believe the crap in the so-called Good Book. I mean, any educated person knows it's all a bunch of hooey and that it's sole remaining purpose is to identify the sophisticate from the ignoramus, by providing fodder for jokes.
Even if fundamentalist Christians are so limited in their thought prowess as popular culture, and Backroom culture for that matter, would have us believe, I'd think you'd have better points to make then ridiculing a group of people that are more deserving of your pity then your scorn.
If only the world would follow your fine example. :wall:Quote:

If you follow the link you'll see pricing for both the PJs and the dolls. They're not priced for charity, trust me.Quote:

I'd say the safest people to make fun of would be Wahabbist Muslims, but I could be wrong.
P.S.: Osama and Whitney, sittin' in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G ...
Self-victimizing today, are we? I suspect not many of us actually believe the "Christians are stupid! Boohoo!" thing, and that you get a little too iffy for it. But it's understandable, considering the anti-religious sentiments expressed in posts in that other thread. Oh, and I'm sure many of us continue to make fun of as many stereotypes as ever; some that are avoided (branded PC, I suppose) are understandably so based on the sensitiveness of their historical backgrounds, or simply of current issues -- past oppression, guilt complex, an attempt to challenge the relatively mainstream "you're gay, this is gay, I'm insulting your mom" or "talk funny Asians must be Muslims Arabs terrorists help" or a-thousand-other-causes, in which, if you wish, you can add "please stop making fun of the fundies" to the list.Quote:

I've never witnessed to any of you that didn't raise the topic first, never judged you by the rules I set for myself, I don't hold or support creationsim or any of the other usual things the secular crowd laughs at all Christians for.
But yep, you guys keep telling yourselves how enlightened and sophisticated you are, and how thin skinned I am. I CAN take a joke and yes, those kids do look ridiculous. It's not the joke, it's the tone, and I'm done with this conversation.
What in the name of hell is that supposed to be ... PJ's complete with shield, hat and, uh, that cloth thingy hanging from the girl's hat?
Where do you keep the shield while sleeping?
:idea2: Hm, come to think of it, it gives me an idea ... the Spawn of Satan PJs, it's a buyer's market out there ... I'll get on the design right away. :laugh4:
Does nobody else find it disturbing how much this:
resembles this:

~
No...
I am also not disturbed by kids dressing up as ghosts on Halloween and the "resemblence" to the KKK...
....Were reaching a bit aernt we? I mean I know all Christians are bigoted and stupid inbreds but they wouldnt dare be open about.Quote:

I personally like the little palestinian kids with suicide bomber vests and little AK-47's, they look like they could kick a little more ass (too bad their parents are pussies and prefer suicide bombing civilicans). It just makes my heart melt looking at all these "religious" folks armed to the teeth to please their gods (including the thread subject picture.)
And God cried. :shame:
There PJs for gods sake something a mum used to help her kindalen go to bed. Nothing more nothing less there just Pjs.
Yet more proof (to me) that "Sales" Christians are all secretly huge potheads.
"Hey, du-u-u-u-ude... let's make these shiny-ass, like, armor pajamas... and then we'll sell it for a ****load apiece... they'll eat it up... speaking of which, you got munchies tonight. And no more communion wafers! Those things taste like crap." ~:pimp:
The only one reaching here is you: reaching to stretch my post into something it's not.Quote:

If I thought there was any similarity between true Christian teaching and white supremecist beliefs, I would not have promised the Catholic Church that I would raise my son in that faith. Though I am not a practicing Catholic myself, my wife is, and it was very important to her.
But I have to tell you: the Christians in here need to lighten up a bit. You guys have really flown off the handle over nothing in this thread.
Besides, when you guys get all defensive about it, the real Christian haters (and I don't deny that there are a few in here) smell blood in the water.
I don't see why they need armor when Jesus is:

I find it hilarious that these images are supposed to be reassuring when really they have some bearded guy staring over your shoulder when you least expect it
That's "Hippy Jesus" Sasaki, My Jesus is a bald black dude with tats, rides a Harley, and opens a 55 gallon drum of whoopass on all who profane the Lord!!!:laugh4:
Argh!
If I was the girl in the top pic, Jesus would be getting a taser to the face very shortly. Also, it looks like Jesus is hi-jacking the dude's truck.
We should have a caption contest...Quote:
