Come on, this is inspired stuff
Boris for PM NOW.Quote:
I meant no insult to the people of Papua New Guinea who I'm sure lead lives of blameless bourgeois domesticity in common with the rest of us."
...
Mr Johnson said he would be happy to "add Papua New Guinea to my global itinerary of apology".
I don't know what it is about Boris -- I think he talks absolute b*ll*x 99% of the time... but I still really like him :laugh4:
Seconded.Quote:

About twenty years ago, I was a member of an american church, and we had missionerys in Papua New Guinea.
They often wrote to us about life living within the tribes, in the rainforest and the mountains which are in the centre of the country.
Its a very interesting place, did you know

You would. ~;)Quote:

VEey good of him to apolagise, considering the comment is accurate, with the qualification that it no-longer happens.
Papua New Guinea was, even forty years ago, primitive in the extreme, a Classicist wrote an article on how thier warfare could be used to build a coherent picture of Homeric warfare.
This is rather like the Danes complaining if they win a football match and then have it described as a "Viking rampage."
As to Boris, some of it is an act. He came to my University and gave a very lucid and enlightened interview for our paper.
Boris should be PM, but we know the Conservatives never vote for someone who's popular with the electorate :wall: the just got lucky with Dave.:2thumbsup:
Are you talking about Greek Warfare - Myths and Realites by Hans van Wees?Quote:

Maybe, I just read it on the net. That does ring a bell though.
So, 40 years ago it was true, now they are saying that it isn't - with no empirical evidence to prove it.
Anyone that wants to go on and on and on about the slave trade is more than welcome. I've yet to see any person that does that have to apologise to the countries that they were offending.
IMO it's thin skin as it's probably uncomfortably close to the truth in the more rural areas.

Mr Johnson sent an apology for any offence caused within minutes of the story emerging, adding that he might embark on apology world tour.
Yes, with a buffoon like Johnson at the helm the Conservatives will have the leader they deserve. :laugh4:
Boris is the greatest politician to have ever lived. All my friends love him, despite not being interested in politics, and they all say they would love him to be PM.
heh im a Liberal Democrats supporter but id vote borris for pm :laugh4: (that said im not voting for Ming the merciless i havent got a clue why they made him leader)
Ming is awful. Stuffy old man who'll drive everyone but Lib Dem diehards away from voting for them.Quote:

He got away with it, and we love him even more.
Wake up and smell the coffee, he's a genius.

Wow , I thought that after his bad performance in he city of the tribes elections he had settled as an elected representative in sheep shagger country , I never realised he was standing across the water .
