EB 0.74 - Pontic Samnite Heavy Infantry

EB 0.74

I was playing a custom game, Pontus vs. Seleucid Empire. I started the game, and when I pointed my mouse at their Pontic Samnite Heavy Infantry, this is what it said:

Pontos
Samnite Heavy Infantry [Light Infantry] (161)
Marching

Is this correct? That they are light infantry? I don't really know much about EB yet; so I was just wondering.

Yes I noticed that as well, pretty weird, but what I find more weird is that Pontus actually HAS these units. Have they a foothold in Italy or maybe bribed them from another faction?

Samnites are mercenaries, so they're available to all factions in custom battles.

I suspect those "classifcations" are assigned by the game and may be hard-coded based on armour values or something, but I'm not sure. It can certainly be annoying sometimes.

The unit-class tags are moddable, and tell the game when to build the unit and where to place it in the battle-line. I can't remember how well Samnite heavies are armoured, but if it's about equal to that of the early principes, they probably shouldn't be placed in the main battle line. Ergo, they are light infantry.
