Doc Stole Corpse Hand as Gift for Stripper
You really couldn't make this stuff up:
Medical school graduate accused of taking hand from cadaver
By Associated Press, 2006-09-19
NEW BRUNSWICK, New Jersey (AP) - A doctor who graduated from a New Jersey medical school has pleaded not guilty to stealing a hand from a school cadaver and giving it to an exotic dancer, authorities said.
Ahmed Rashed, a 2005 graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, was charged Monday after voluntarily returning from Los Angeles, where he is in a residency program, said his lawyer, Hassen Abdellah.
The dancer, Linda Kay, kept the hand in a jar of formaldehyde in her bedroom in South Plainfield. Friends have said she called the hand "Freddy," The Star-Ledger reported Tuesday.
Police discovered the hand, along with six human skulls, at Kay's home in July. The 31-year-old stripper has pleaded not guilty to unlawful disposal of human remains.
The left hand was taken in May or June 2002, according to an investigation by authorities.
Rashed, who was freed on bail, could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

As you say, truth is way stranger than fiction.

"Unlawful disposal of human remains"? That law's super weak.

Stories like this make me laugh at thread topics like the Universal Ethics one.

Well it's better than cutting your ear off and giving it to her.

When I first noticed the article, I thought it might have something to do with the hand of glory. You never know what those silly occultists might be up to.

Yes, here the crime is "violating a sepulchre" and is punishable by life imprisonment.

I don't understand why this is wierd. Is it because the gift recipient was a stripper?
Re: Doc Stole Corpse Hand as Gift for Stripper
I'm pretty sure this is old news, at least around here. Maybe because the court case has begun...
Chalk up another win for the most densely populated and highly-property-taxed state in the union. ~

When people told her to find a hobby, she came up with this? Well at least it's original? :inquisitive:
