Clapton Hanging Out in My Town
I swore I saw him at Pounders Pub on Grand Avenue last year, and my pals told me I was nuts. Ha!

Seems he was in town working with J.J. Cale, who lives just outside of town, and penned "After Midnight" and "Cocaine".

...The CD cover, showing a cardboard sign that reads “Escondido” propped up against two guitar cases sitting on the ground near a rural road and an old red pickup truck, looks like it could have been shot north of the city.
Clapton has been sighted in Escondido several times while working on the album with Cale, who has lived for years in Valley Center.
To my co-workers and neighbors, the nattering nabobs of negativism: "Neener-Neener!!!". I kick myself for listening to the crowd, instead of following my own instincts.

Mighty glad to have you here bossman.
I saw Clapton at a Roger Water's concert about twenty years ago. We had seats far from the stage and I was looking at the guys in the band with binoculars and during pretty much the last song I said to my budddy, "Hey, that guy looks just like Eric Clapton."
"Whack!" My buddy hits me upside the head. "It is Clapton you idiot."
"Oh..."
