I am trying to make a unit phalanx capable, but whenever I do this, the spears they have change to the generic ones used by the Macedonians. Does anyone know hw to make them phalanx capable while retaining the spears that I made for them?

It´s a feature.
The phalanx spear is a special model/animation/formation set that comes automatically with the phalanx ability entry.
The only thing you could do is to edit the hoplite_pike.cas, that´s the model that´s used for the phalanx.
