Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
Great Tosa :charge:
If there are no objections, Ulus(fL)_O_Ulus of Orda will be the ground up for grabs.
Please be sure that everyone has samuraiwars_11b.
The best way I found was to extract to a temp folder, and copy the contents to the game.
To be sure, check your main game folder for a STWreadme file that reads “Readme for Samurai Wars 11b and statswapper.”
Armys are now limited to 9k.
Who will be the Samurai Warlord of Orda Province?

Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
Of course I'll be there, too.
I've to admit that I wasn't happy about switching back to beta 5 again because it means the end of testing and probably finding the bug.
But before we lose all interest in this mod we better switch to a working version.
BTW, I've uploaded another MP patch that switches cavalry in beta_7 back to what it was in beta_5. This should even work with the STW textures. So if we have 6 people and enough time......we can try this download
-
Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
There are good reasons for both. We need to play something together (beta5 is the stable one) and we need to test this beta7 because it has nice extras.
I'll be online tonight for 5 and 7.

I’m sure that “The Samurai Mod Squad ”, who have been there for all of the fixes, and still have a working copy 7.1 will find time to have test game. But as I said, my copy is broke, even with the above fix, it lags.
I will have to start over with a fresh install, but that will have to wait for now.
If there is any chance to keep the interest in Samurai Wars multiplayer, we need to go back to beta 5, and keep that going. Otherwise there won’t be anyone to play the “next” version, whenever it is fixed.

Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
Someone have a link to the download of the beta 5?
As you know I experienced some trouble getting it to work last sunday. I made a fresh install of vi and put my old beta 5 ontop of it and took the stats from yuukis sig, and from yuukie on msn but for some reason it didnt work.
Any ideas anyone?

Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
Kalle,
I don't know what went wrong, I can only assume that you maybe mixed up beta_7 and beta_5 downloads. One of the beta_7 mappacks for example includes also a startpos file. Installing that on beta_5 can make it incompatible. Sorry for the confusion, I'm desperately waiting for the beta_8 that will hopefully solve all of this
This is our main forum, where I've just updated the "Download & Install" thread. I hope it's easier to follow now.
I've also uploaded the replays of last weekend. You can find them here.

I missed the first game Sunday because of version problem.
Apparently the 11b stats had not made it into the main folder somehow?
When I unzipped them to temporary folder and copied to the main, everything worked fine.
To check to make sure the 11b stat upgrade for beta 5 worked, find the STWreadme file in the main game folder, it should read:
Readme for Samurai Wars 11b and statswapper. Oct 07, 2006

Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
CBR is making an installer for beta_5 which will include the 11b stats, and get around the problem with incompatibility between Winzip and Windows zip. The problem with .zip files is that Windows unzip doesn't put things in the right place. It makes a subfolder, and puts everything under that.
STWmod requires a clean install of MTW/VI v2.01. That means installing MTW + VI + v2.01 patch. Then you can install STWmod + 11b stats on that.

Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
There's a technical problem with that server right now, we're looking what happened and working on a fix. The new beta5 installer is not available at the moment. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
Pretty sure Yuuki walked away with the top score from this last Sunday.
842 Kills -448 Losses for a Score of 394.
But I wasn’t in the first 2v2. Was there anyone with better numbers there?
:book:
-
Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
First 2v2 was:
Attackers won:
MizuCBR: 649 kills - 384 deaths = 265
Ra's al Ghul: 607 kills - 413 deaths = 194
Defenders lost:
MizuTosaInu: 398 kills - 474 deaths = -76
MizuYuuki: 773 kills - 438 deaths = 335
Tomi, I have my score as 842 kills - 383 losses = 459 for the last 2v2. The battle lasting 12 min and 45 seconds. You do have -strictserver in your shortcut I pray not that praying will do any good.
-
Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
Yes I have –strictserver
I’m using TW Logfile Browser 2.0 by UglyPolar which includes Men Captured and Men Killed in Total Kills and Total Losses.
Your 842 "Total" Kills tally was a combination of 463 actual Kills and 379 Captures.
Your 448 "Total" Losses tally was the combination of 383 actually Killed plus 65 Captured.
I guess the “Total” method considers that "all" captures are put to the sword.

Wouldn't I get the captured back if I won the battle?

Yes but I believe headless, as they would be executed immediately on capture (perhaps why they disappear on the battlefield?).
And if they were still alive, you would have to kill them your self anyway, for allowing themselves to be captured. Right

Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
OK. Then the first 2v2 was:
Attackers won:
MizuCBR: 649 kills - 562 losses = 87
Ra's al Ghul: 607 kills - 643 losses = -36
Defenders lost:
MizuTosaInu: 398 kills - 566 losses = -168
MizuYuuki: 773 kills - 735 losses = 39

Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
A quick peek at the scores and it looks like CBR is the new Lord of Province Eleven (Mizulands 11).
Congratulations Lord CBR
955 – 563 = 392
First time players this Sunday were Wu Chi and Naruto, with Warman almost there. Next time I think he will make it. Welcome All

Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
After watching the replay of Mizu vs Hunters from last Sunday,
I've to say it's a very exciting game to watch. There were several
times when I saw victory for one of teams and the other managed to consolidate again. A very close battle and well played by all.
My own perfomance in the first game was rather mediocre. I was hard pressed by Hunter_Wu and lucky that CBR's center attack offered me an opportunity to counter. After initially routing Wu's army I wasn't able to chase him off the map, though.
I still need to work a lot on my team coordination.
I've to say to my defense that I almost always have a little camera lag during big battles.
Were you guys (Mizu's) using Team Speak during the battles?
Congrats, CBR!

Re: Samurai Warlords XIII
We did have Teamspeak running, but we hardly spoke during the battle. In any case, I don't see how our using Teamspeak could cause you lag. I didn't have any lag. Camera lag is probably coming from your own machine. Make sure you're not using hardware mixing for sound or too high map resolution. I use medium quality sound and 800x600 battlemap resolution.
