I want to kill the scipii and brutii
I don't like the pace that RTW compels when playing as a Roman faction. I'd also like to be the sole representeur of the Roman Empire, and not merely a faction. These in mind killing the scipii and brutii factions on turn 1 of a new Imperial Campaign game is my goal. Towards that end I have created a file descr_script.txt and have the following lines within:
Quote:
script
console_command kill_faction romans_brutii
console_command kill_faction romans_scipii
end_script
At the end of descr_start, I call the script like this:
Quote:
script
descr_script.txt
I proceed to start the Imperial Campaign, select the Julii, and before the campaign can load successfully I get a CTD.
What am I doing wrong, and is there a better way to accomplish my goal?
Thank you very much for any time you can spare folks.
Re: I want to kill the scipii and brutii
I'm not sure why your aproach causes problems, but it's likely related to the initial Senate missions.
Here are a couple of tutorials on removing Roman factions, primarily to reuse them. The
first (if you read the whole thread) will show you how to retain the Senate if you'd like. The
second gives a concrete example of how to reuse one of the Roman factions.

Question: Couldn't he remove the Scipii and Brutii families like he did, and THEN remove their initial Senate missions from the relevant file? I assume that they are in a file because the initial missions are always the same.

No, the initial Senate missions are hardcoded.

Thank you folks for your assistance. I decided instead to download a mod to make this happen. I downloaded the somewhat minimalist-mod "Terrae_Expugnandae" and found that a good compromise. Ideally I would have liked to preserve the independence of Rome and the Senate. Now I'll simply have to role-play.
