No, I am not commiting suicide. Life is too good for that.

But I doubt I will be round the Org for much longer, and I wanna say why while the intoxicants are running strong.

To be blunt, this place has gone to *insert witty wording here*. Admittedly, I am really only a taverngoer anymore, since I pretty much stopped posting in the EB forum after I quit EB (and I wasn't round much before that, either.) But the number of genuinely interesting, origional threads, more specifically in the backroom, has dropped to about zero over the past year. There used to be genuinely interesting stuff back here. People used to really talk to each other. Sure, they were nutty and extremist, but there was discussion. But now all I see is just post after post of talkinghead nonsense. Noone wants to argue any more. They just want to "win." It is like posting inside of a media talk show. It sucks.

I'll still be around. I will keep lurking somewhat after I pretty much leave. But I am just tired of this place. It's sad. Nothing interesting happens anymore.

Yes, I was talking to Strike in the Chat, and he told me he was quitting; and that motivated me to post this. But it was only the posting that Strike encouraged. I am too damn tired of this place to really be a true patron anymore.

Eh, things go up and down, Zorba, and so does the backroom. Lurk around, check it out every now and then, and post whenever you find something that sparks your interest - I'm sure you'll find those, too :2thumbsup:

Sometimes it's good to take a break from the Tavern for a while. But it's possible that after some months or a year you'll feel the pull to sully yourself with us once more ...

the backroom is a worthless place, z. no doubt. i agree with you that it was once a better place. i think the backroom and all of the trash that comes with it should simply be deleted from the org. but, :shrug:

if there's nothing on the org that interests you, no shame in that. i only come around to read the EBH forums anymore. and one day that will probably cease to interest me and i'll be more gone as well.

come on m8, there were times when I hated to post here, and sometimes, even for 3-6 days because there were no good topics. and if there still wasn't any good debates going on, I started them. Iran, 8 pages couple months ago, Gun Control, Smoking, Iraq, Trans Fat Ban and Others. but w/e. good luck m8 :sweatdrop:

Take some time off. I do. I disappear for months at a time. I come back. Let's face it, the genuinely intelligent and creative and interesting people here exist in a far greater proportion than you'll find anywhere else. Even here in the backroom, with so many differing opinions from so so many differing backgrounds. Not really anywhere else like it.

An easy way of pacing yourself is by TW game releases, when a game comes out check out the forums for a month or so, then trundle off until the next release.

Honestly, that's part of why I cut back a year or so ago, so things haven't changed that much probably, just your perception of them.

Come back some day, perhaps this place will seem interesting again.

These Backroom goes though Cycles. like Now, it's not really intersting. got 2 or 3 good or so-so Threads, rest of them don't appeal to me. Mabye, in 1-2 weeks, there will be 5-10 threads here I will be posting at, and it will stay like there for the backroom for 2-4 weeks, then go back to boring.
