Early, Late or High Period

Is there no way start campaigns at a later date like in mtw
I used to play a campaign till i was pretty much unbeatable and a dominent and wealthy power (allied to the pope of course being a good catholic :yes: )
This meant i only got to see really late techs like gunpowder if i started on high period
As m2tw has just one start date and soo many turns (with even more turns til gunpowder if you correct the stupid way seasons fall every few years and people age every few years) i will prolly never get to see gunpowder unless i play for ages and by then im guessing ill be all powerful and it wont really matter so what im after is a way to start later on?
any plans for such a feature from the devs in a patch or even a mod perhaps?

I think the only way we'll get to see something like this is through a mod. I sure hope one comes along at some point that'll divide it up into 3 time periods.

I changed mine to I changed it to 60 70
started out with larger cities and castles as well by editting the strat file that way I could take advantage of the gunpowder sooner
